Besides being a beginning baseball player, there are so many other reasons why one might want to own this durable set: a small yard, a lack of a pitcher, a rainy day, all come to mind. It features an easily assembled swiveling tee, which stands atop a rubber home plate and can adjust for height. An extra base and pitching rubber are also included (we're not sure why in a T-ball practice unit, but at least kids will be ready when they start playing for real) as is a batting glove. The bat is real wood and, though smaller than regulation, really packs a punch. In our unscientific test, the rubber baseball really sailed and, thanks to an elastic cord, came bouncing back. So what does it all have to do with Barry Bonds? Not much. But get a youngster started on this early and maybe they'll end up being a two-time MVP. --John Moe
